Diet > Why Take Nutritional Supplements?
There are many reasons and these are some of them.
The earth does not
have all the mineral nutrients spread evenly over the
surface of the planet as required by our bodies. Some
areas are deficient in minerals which causes health
problems for the plant and animal species that live
in the area. In New Zealand an example is Boron. In
some places this mineral is absent from the soil and
in sheep on the farms in these areas there was a high
incidence of arthritis as Boron is required in the
diet to help metabolise calcium. The problem was
identified by veterinary science and boron was
prescribed as a cure for arthritis in sheep which
worked.
The health supplement industry recognized the
parallels between domestic animal diseases and human
diseases and now we can purchase individual vitamins,
minerals, enzymes and amino acids to help us to
maintain our good health.
There are other
reasons;
We may not be getting
a balanced diet and we need extra nutrients.
Infections or illness may have weakened our immune
system
There may be more stress
There may be poisoning from pollutants, atmospheric,
agricultural and industrial.
Pregnancy and breast feeding.
Heavy work load.
Extreme Sports.
It is recommended that
with good diet and moderate exercise we all take on a
regular basis a multi trace mineral formula.
In times of stress and ill health, take extra
vitamins, enzymes and amino acids at the
recommendation of your health care practitioner.
To avoid the need to supplement our diets, we must
eat a wide variety of foods with preference to sea
foods, including sea vegetables (seaweeds) which have
a greater abundance of nutrients than land grown
plants.
